This Painting is a work honoring the victims of the attacks

of September 11, 2001 in NEW YORK.

This is a changing living colors painting  depending on the light and angle of viewing.

This is a painting with oil and done with a knife, except the bottom which is made with acrylic paint. Some drawing is painted with chinese ink with a part of the relief covered with gold and silver leaf.

In order not to restrict and close the visual field and to leave an open mind, I voluntarily chose not to frame my painting.

This is a painting with double vision in which you can see many of symbols to interpret.

This painting represents how this attack impacts on freedom has shaken its foundations and the fragility of this freedom. People have less fredom since the SEPTEMBER 11 attacks. Although NEW YORK continues a “normal” routine life, individual freedom has been eroded, people have much less freedom than before.

Freedom has lost her fundamental values. I symbolized this crumbling unstable freedom by the representation of the statue of Liberty flowing into the sea behind the city and the statue of Liberty in the foreground that is beginning to disintegrate itself.

This is a very expressive painting.

In this painting, I show the Statue of Liberty crumbling like a brittle and ephemeral trophy.

 A freedom that loses its symbol.  

The choice of grey as a color for the city is very symbolic beacause after the fire/injuries, there are ashes/scars but after ashes/scars, we can have hope for a new life and strength to carry on.

This is a painting with double vision in which you can see a lot of symbols to interpret.

This painting represents the deep injuries and suffering of an entire city and its people, and how the world faced the attacks and remebers all these victims.

It is a very expressive painting. It is both dark and at the same time lively and restless.

The choice of fire colors of incandescent materials is very symbolic. These colors express the anger, pain, misunderstanding and sadness that inflame the hearts and minds of the population of the whole world .

It's not just the Twin Towers that were affected.

This painting shows the collateral damage that is represented by a devastated city. NEW YORK that is only a huge fire. Buildings are only open wounds.

This painting is very lively because the colors of the bloody sky change depending on the light and angle of viewing. The smoke clouds that appear and disappear, giving way to a slightly more cheerful sky on the right of the picture, a ray of sunshine that appears symbolizing a glimmer of hope for a better world.

This painting represents the way of the souls victims to the Here After.

The night is the darkness. The moon represents the light tunnel to Heaven (the way).

The Brooklyn Bridge is represented by Twin Towers as the pillars of the bridge but also the pillars of the city. This virtual bridge consisting of Twin Towers Ghosts is the eternal link between the victims and NEW YORK. The souls represented on this bridge by white silhouettes, head to the tunnel of light through NEW YORK.

This is to show that the physical disappearance of the Twin Towers and its victims doesn't diminish their exictence and memories in the minds and hearts of those who survived.

This a changing living colors painting.

 By my expressive painting, this work tells a true story that I am telling you :

Once upon a time,

Florence and Pascal, a young couple.
The Tree of Life of their love grew,
Despite all the love and all the care of the Tree,
Beautiful leaves appeared, but no fruit.
Despite the efforts and assistance of specialists to help nature
The quest for fruit remained a dream.

Florence and Pascal decided to direct the branches of their Tree of Life to other horizons.
"To catch the moon", it had to borrow difficult and tortuous ways.
Years after the beginning of the quest,
They had to travel all over the world to finally pick up their first fruit.
This wonderful fruit, named Qui Si loaded them with happiness.

The Tree continued to grow up in hope and the dream of a new fruit.
"To catch the moon", it had to borrow again difficult and tortuous paths.
Years after the beginning of this new quest
They had again traveled the world to collect their second fruit.
This wonderful fruit named Lilyang loaded them with Family Happiness.

The Tree of Life continued to grow up...

This is your story Florence, Pascal, Qui Si and Lilyang that inspired me to create this Painting.

At first, I wanted to paint a Tree of Life with one baby and his family. But unconsciously my past Life resurfaced in my Painting.
